In fact Marble Mountain enjoys some of the best skiing in eastern Canada! Corner Book lies in somewhat of a snow belt and with an average snowfall of 5 meters/16 feet, Marble Mountain offers both the beginner and the expert skier and snowboarder great skiing pleasure. Enjoy the thirty nine runs on the hill with interesting names like Marble Chute and the Boomerang. What about line ups you might ask? Well, any of these runs can be accessed from one or more of the four lifts which also have interesting names such as Newfie Bullet and Black Mariah. One cannot forget the beautiful Marble Mountain Base Lodge, which was built in the 1990’s. Enjoy the spectacular view of the hill from two of its three levels. The panoramic scenery of the Humber Valley can be witnessed at the top of the mountain throughout our four seasons.
While in Corner Brook, come visit Steady Brook which is the home of Marble Mountain. Steady Brook is a small town that lies at the base of the mountain and rests on the Humber River. Enjoy hiking around Marble Mountain and through the town, experience the exhilaration and breathtaking beauty of the area while zip lining through the spectacular fall colors for which Corner Brook and Steady Brook are well known. Want another major attraction to add to your itinerary while in Corner Brook? If so, then you should take in the Corner Brook Stream Trail! The Corner Brook Stream Trail runs through the city and offers great walks and easy hikes at any season of the year. At the end of your hike, drop into one of the two hotels which are within walking distance or drop into one of the many cafes/restaurants in this area.
When you are looking to discover what to do in Corner Brook in winter, don’t forget to also take in snowshoeing most anywhere in and around the city. Take in cross-country skiing at one of the best cross-country ski clubs in Newfoundland. With your snowmobile, zip through some of the great groomed trails in the area. In the spring come back to Marble Mountain and enjoy the snowmobile races which take place at the end of the ski season in April.
